Christmas tree and snow today. Snow can change the pace of things. Yesterday’s snowfall made the roads around us pretty slippery. Have to shovel or plow yourself out to drive when it snows bad enough. Extra time spent there, and then cleaning the vehicle off if you have to leave it outside for any extended time. Everything slows down just a little. And that’s been the pace of my day so far. Regular readers will notice today’s post is way later than usual. It’s just how the day has come to me. Usually I create the pace of my day – maybe that’s the most common way for all of us. We have places to go, people to see, things to do – and we try to cram as much of it as we can into the time we have in our day. But once in a while I’ll get a day like today, which just – has it’s own pace, and I’m letting it come to me instead of the other way around. I have to say, it feels kinda awesome. Feels like vacation. No agenda, just the awesome day filled with possibilities. Do whatever you want whenever you want. I don’t get a lot of days like this, but I guess it’s up to us to set our lives up in a way that we can step back every now and then and just let the day come to us. Looks like the day is telling me that’s about all I have to say today, so – we’ll keep it short and sweet this morning. Relax a bit today if you can, let life come to you instead of the other way around. Not a bad habit to encourage…

  1. It’s what retirement is like – every day is a gift with endless possibilities, and it’s awesome. Love the tree, by the way.
