The days are blowing by… every day I get to the end and think “what happened? How could the day be over?”… time is flying by. Weeks blow by… months blow by… years blow by – how the heck is it October already? I swear, January 1st was yesterday… but here we are. Time waits for no one. And… life blows by. Before you know it you’re 66 years old and wondering how in the hell it went so damn fast. Almost every day I see news of someone I know who passed away, or a musician or actor my age has died. And death becomes more and more of a reality. And I feel like I’m in a runaway train speeding up as the end creeps closer. I doubt that time flies by like that unless you’re doing things you love with people you like to be with. I remember a few jobs I did years ago that made minutes feel like hours. I’d look at the clock – 3:45PM… then look again… 3:47! Arrrgh!… Doing things you hate might slow the pace but I wouldn’t recommend it. I don’t even think it’s so much about being “busy” as it is about enjoying whatever it is you’re doing. “Time flies when you’re having fun” is a popular saying for a reason – it’s true. When your life is structured to enjoy every moment, the moments will fly by. And it’s easy to overlook things. We are all on some version of “autopilot” with our lives. We do similar things on similar days. We take vacations at similar times and go to similar places. We hang with people we know. We eat similar things, we wear similar clothes, we play music we’re familiar with. And hopefully somewhere in there we’re paying attention to the strong, still voice within us when it tries to guide us in a new direction. If we can get in touch with our intuition to the point where we’re comfortable taking risks based solely on that – even if it might seem crazy to yourself and everyone around you, well… in my life that’s where the magic is. The other side of our comfort zone. Accepting nudges from the Universe and surrendering to God’s will instead of fighting it. What do you want to see when you’re getting ready to turn out the light on your life? As you look back, will you regret the risks you didn’t take? Or will you smile to yourself and say “Job well done – can’t wait to see where we go from here”? The more you lead your best life, the faster it will move. Life blows by. We blink and it’s gone. We don’t have time to live any other way. Love hard. Laugh. Listen. Create. Do your best, always. Be kind. Be honest and reliable. Give it all you’ve got. Do everything with passion. Let yourself feel your emotions – love, fear, anticipation, frustration, happiness, sadness, contentment, fear… all of them. Why hold back?… Let love overwhelm you. Let other people know how much they mean to you. Cry when you need to. Smile, and laugh, and yell, and let life take you on its ride – because it’s a wild thing to experience. So why not feel it all? 2026 is coming. Can you feel it? When that year blows by, where will you find yourself? Hopefully looking back on yet another year well lived. Go kick some ass today, and every day. We don’t get enough time to waste it living lives of quiet desperation. Get in touch with your soul and live the life God created for you to live. And enjoy the journey, because really – the journey is now. And the end is up to us…
