Well – quite a different look today. It’s 4:18AM and we’re getting ready to fly back home to Wisconsin today. Three days at the NAMM Show. What an event – I was told there were 1600 vendors. We walked an average of 13 miles a day. We met people from all over the world. As a student of sales and marketing – and life in general, really – I found it extremely interesting how every booth had its own vibe going on, you know? Way too many booths had a guy sitting there looking at his phone and totally oblivious to anyone walking past. Some booths just weren’t very welcoming. Even if you went to the booth and started looking around it either felt like you were interrupting something, or they just weren’t interested in giving you any information at all. In some cases, there was a language barrier to overcome. And then there were the booths that just sucked you in, right? The people working there were smiling and having a great time, and even if you weren’t necessarily interested in their product at first, by the end you might be considering it. It’s kind of a microcosm of life in general, isn’t it? Some people are so in their own head, they miss a lot of opportunities that are right there for the taking because they’re in their own little world (on their phone)… Some people have walls that they’ve built over time that just tend to keep other at a distance. Sometimes you meet people and your point of view is so different it creates a situation that makes it hard to communicate. And sometimes you meet those people who just suck you in and make you want to spend time with them. We met a lot of people like that while we were here. These are my people. I love being around other people who have that intense love for who they are and what they’re doing, so much that it just shows in everything they do. These are the people I want to hang out with, get to know, do business with. I could tag fifty or more people on this post, but today I know this – I’m going to do my best to make my interactions with other as upbeat and positive as possible going forward. I walked away from some booths just supercharged, you know? The vibes were that good. I want people to feel that way after we meet – to have such a passion for the moments I get – every moment – that others can physically feel it. That’s a gift, I tell you. One worth going after. Can’t be faked, either. You have to be full of life, and love, and have that inner drive and passion to exude it. So, today – we’re heading home. I love being home. I’m going to treat everyone as nicely as I can, doesn’t matter what their vibe is. I’m creating my own vibes today. And today’s vibe is fantastic, too. Today and every day. Only way to live.
