Dawn of a new day. Life on earth is incredible. Everything is amazing. I saw a spider in the bathroom the other day – it was really a tough looking spider. Kinda scary looking. Very small, too. He/she could have easily fit on my big toenail with room to spare (we did NOT try this experiment). And I started thinking about how cool spiders are. Webs, that whole thing. And how awful it has to be for any insect that gets trapped in a web. It’s really horrible, right? And all the other insects and animals on earth – it’s mind boggling, really. It’s incredible and amazing and scary as hell all at the same time. Life on earth has a shelf life. Where did we come from? Where will we go? Why are we here? What could possibly be the point of life on earth? It’s like there’s this ocean of humanity, and we’re all just drops. And if you’re just a drop in an ocean, everything is calm and loving no matter what’s going on in the ocean. Then – one day you have a chance to leave the ocean and live a life here on earth according to your own thoughts, feelings and beliefs. The ocean will make itself available for guidance if you seek it, but there will also be guidance generated by earth as well. The mind you’re given will have the ability to take over if you’re not careful – and there will be no instruction manual. You will be born from the union of two other drops and forever tied to them as your parents. You will inherit earthly traits from them. They will affect your thoughts and beliefs as you grow up as well, making true personal guidance a hard thing to grasp, because once you’re old enough to start thinking independently you’ve already internalized a lot from you prior experiences. And the world you’re given in your quest – this world – is full of opportunities and dangers. And you are free to do whatever you want. To live however you want. What will you do? Your time will be limited depending on your choices, too. Will you chose to live the best life you can? Will you explore everything you can? Seek to know everything you can? Take care of the body and mind you’ve been given? Or not. Will you use drugs and try to scam your way through life? Will you allow hatred and anger to consume you? Will the other droplets start to piss you off? They’re quite obviously not doing it right. You might start to believe that you can’t get back to the ocean if you don’t live right, you’ll just evaporate. And in the end, will any of the petty bullshit annoyances we encounter on almost a daily basis matter at all? We all return to the ocean someday. We’re all connected. When we’re truly in the zone spiritually it’s clear. But we so seldom choose to live from there. We do all these ridiculous things – separate ourselves by color, or what religion we are, or where we were born… and, of course – politics. There are 8 billion people on earth at any given time. We will never agree on anything 100%. Everyone has their own version of what’s right or wrong. And morality is a funny thing, right? It seems like we’re more focused on hating each other than loving each other. People kill each other every day for not being the right color, or religion, or for being born in the wrong place on earth. And it begets more anger and hatred and death. Hatred and anger do that. They kill things. Maybe it’s time to focus more on love. Love creates things. Music. Poetry. Look at all the crazy cool things we’ve created over our time here – automobiles, planes, buildings, water and electrical systems… rocket ships… satellites, the internet – incredible. And free will to use as we want. Which can be a blessing or a curse. Long post to get to this – every fucking moment of every day we have is special. It’s easy to be angry. It is much harder to see all the anger and hatred and violence and stay centered in love. But, when you get to the end… if you look back and see all the love? Congratulations. You win. But if you all you see is anger and hatred and how shitty you were to anyone who didn’t fit your idea of the proper way to live?… ouch. Maybe we go back into the ocean and keep getting do-overs? Who knows? Be the best person you can be. Always. Love hard. Live with passion. Stand up for the things you believe in, but don’t be a dick about it. Fill you life with people and places and things you love, and live from there. I wish you well on your journey today, as always. I greatly appreciate you took the time to read this, and would love to hear your thoughts on the matter in the comments below.
